This is not professional guide, but a chapter in my personal GPU based crypto mining journey. In this video, I make a mining rig frame from scratch using Aluminum and wood for a 6xGPU mining rig with better air flow and efficient running operation. Please use all precautions while using heavy tools and things with sharp edges. Follow all saftey guideline provided by your countries' law and safety regulations by such authorities.
The background to this project is that I had a fully aluminum based open air mining rig frame which was holding 12 GPUs and a gap of less than 1.5 inches between GPUs, I had setup this rig in the winters and there was no extreme heating issues the rig was running smoothly but as winter was at its end, ambient temperatures started reaching 33◦C - 35◦C, causing the GPU core temperatures to reach 70◦C - 77◦C, depending on the GPU positions which was on the higher side as the winter season was just about to transit into spring. Then I saw temperature starting to make problems in running the rigs, like temperature alarms, OC failures and restarting of rigs, once these started, I thought this was enough and I decided to make another rig frame and stack it on top and make airflow better. After I transferred 6 GPUs to the new frame, there were no more issues related to temperature. Watch the video below to see all the materials and the processes.
